ARIA'S BURNING MAN ADVENTURE
Burning Man trip
Participants join in the effort to co-create Black Rock City a temporary metropolis dedicated to art and community. Burning Man isn't your usual festival. It's a city wherein almost everything that happens is created entirely by its citizens, who are active participants in the experience.
So this year I wanted to go there with the purpose of creating my art through music videos for my up and coming mantra album “love is the answer“I only had four days to shoot two video clips and a trailer so I have to tell you it was pretty intense.
I arrived in Reno ( The closest big city next to Burning man a 3 Hour drive to Black Rock desert) after 15 Hours on the plane I really didn’t feel that well and wanted to find a good place for smoothies and green juices to detox so I headed to whole foods market. I was super surprised that they didn’t have a juice bar like they do in other whole foods markets all over America. In LA I used to go to whole foods every day for juices and smoothies and in Reno they didn't so needless to say I was disappointed.
The entire plane ride I was just thinking of that green juice. But anyway I ended up getting a few compliments like Reishi mushroom and stuff like that will reinforce my immune system and started to look for a good place to eat. I ended up finding such an amazing place! if you ever find yourself in Reno you have to go and check it out it’s called Great Basin Community food https://www.greatbasinfood.coop and they have amazing cold pressed juices amazing delicious soups in their restaurant above the store and the best vegan cheez croissant I have ever freakin had. After I got some amazing food and a nights rest in Reno we headed out to the desert.
This was my second time out there but this time I had an artist pass that my Friend Taylor and Peter gave me. They, by the way, have one of the coolest art pieces out there if you want to check it out http://www.peterhazel.com/bloom.html
So we got there as people were building the city and setting up all the art installations. The coolest thing about arriving before the flood of people is that you get the feeling that the desert is all yours. The daily grind of content creation was fun but very challenging with the extreme hit in the daytime and the really cold nights. The first time I experienced the festival I was there with a bunch of friends and I was there to party so it was a lot of fun getting to meet a lot of interesting people. This time around it was just us and the artists and people that were building the city so it was a totally different experience but an interesting one at that. Anyway, it’s really not the same when you so somewhere for fun or work but no matter what I recommend to anyone to experience Burning man at least once in there life because it’s such a beautiful community!
