My time with Dyson

Did you know that the Dyson institute is in Malmesbury England?

Well, a few days ago I had the chance to go and visit their campus there and I had the opportunity to understand how all their products work in a bit more detail.

I have always been such a big fan of their air purifiers as we live in Paris at the moment.

Sometimes the pollution level is so high in the city that it makes my eyes all red and my throat itchy. So as I said before it was really exciting being able to go and learn more about the quality of the air that we breathe and how important it is to our overall health.

We stayed in a really cute hotel in Malmesbury called The Rectory Hotel for two days and we had a bunch of workshops to learn not only about Dyson products but also about the air we breathe.

Did you guys know that the houses that we live in sometimes have more pollutants in the air than outside? Well, it was quite a surprise to me and its caused by all the toxic products we can find in paint or the furniture in our house, things like Acetaldehyde, Benzene, Vinyl Acetate, Hexabromocyclododecane, Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), Trichloroethylene, Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers!

In the past, I tried to find several ways to naturally get rid of the chemicals or at least minimize, the levels of these toxins inside. So the first thing I thought of was finding the right plants! The research in one study, recommended purple waffle plant (Hemigraphis alternate), English ivy, purple heart, foxtail fern and wax plant all for their superior air-filtering abilities. In addition, they also recommend, " adding a cross-section of plants, one per 100 square feet of living space. I started to feel the difference but it wasn’t quite enough so the best alternative really was with Dyson!

A really handy feature is the App that you can connect the purifier to! So you can instantly tell the quality of the air inside your house and also tell the quality in the surrounding area all from your phone.

I have to say it’s pretty cool and I felt such a big difference in the air inside my house especially as someone that loves to take care of my health.

I try to do yoga every day and meditate as well. I think the air around me is as important as the food and water I eat and drink. When I meditate or chant mantras using specific breathing techniques, imagine if you have to inhale-exhale deeply for 20 minutes! bad quality air has a huge impact on the practice. This is an issue with some yoga studios in Paris as the air coming into the studio is not being filtered.

So I like to use the new Dyson Pure Cool Me and because it's super small and practical you can just put it next to your mat and it will purify the air just around your space you can also use it next to our bed at night so you make sure you have the purest air possible when you sleep.

Also just as practical and cool looking, I discovered the new Dyson v11 vacuum absolute and I love it! it expels clean air and that’s nice because sometimes vacuum cleaners can release dirty air back into your home. Dyson cord-free vacuums have whole-machine filtration which captures 99.97% of dust as small as 0.3 microns and expels only clean air. And we love Clean don’t we all?

Dyson’s latest design also stands out for featuring an innovative LCD screen, which allows easy navigation between the suction levels and also displays real-time information on how much vacuuming time is left until the battery will need re-charging. This means there’s no need to worry about sudden cut-outs or tripping over any cords.

Who wants to give it a try?
